NYC SUPERMOTO - East Coast Track Days
Tech! I spent a lot of time getting my bike ready for the next race, which for me will be at Etown on Sept 19th (Sunday). You can see above the routing of my vent hoses, which for racers, is interesting (maybe). For non-racers, this is the most boring post ever. The catch can is a UFO one, been going on two seasons.
Takes time but it’s important to get your bike sorted for race/track days. It’s even gratifying. Being in town this weekend, I spent some time ion the garage: New engine oil and filter, new transmission oil, safety wired everything, checked valve clearances (I know! still solid), and washed the bike (kinda). It’s not a weekend at the beach, but that’s next weekend, and now things are ready to race. I should really change my fork oil too, have yet to do that on this bike at all, but you gotta draw the line somewhere, right? If you have any questions about tech inspection, check out this post on my former Ning site - nycsupermoto.ning.com. Runs though catch cans, safety wiring, and some other stuff, plus Al chimes in with some additional advice.
